Demi Lovato Generates Intense Backlash for Pro-Abortion Song, "Swine"
June 24 marks the first anniversary of the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe vs. Wade.
While pro-lifers praise God and celebrate the monumental and long-awaited decision, singer and actress Demi Lovato dropped a new song entitled, "Swine."
The pro-abortion "anthem" mocks Christians for supporting the pro-life movement and disgustingly degrades women as objects seeking self-gratification.
The title, "Swine," cheapens and degrades a woman's value to that of a pig. The song, in simple terms, says, "If I cannot choose to kill my baby, I might as well be a pig."
"We gotta grow 'em, we gotta raise 'em, we gotta feed and bathe 'em, and if you won't, they call you a witch to burn at the stake in Salem," she sings.
Lovato insists that aborting her child is about her survival. She also mocks the Christian faith, and dresses and dances as if she is a demon.
In the video, she also blasphemes Jesus and the Apostles at the Last Supper.
"Picture your faith, imagine your God and even your holy Bible / Is suddenly banned, do you understand? / Now doesn't that sound entitled? / It's your book, but it's my survival," Lovato sings.
In her Instagram announcement, Lovato mourns the loss of the "constitutional right to a safe abortion" and explains why she recorded "Swine."
"I created ‘SWINE’ to amplify the voices of those who advocate for choice and bodily autonomy," she wrote.
"I want this song to empower not only the birthing people of this country, but everyone who stands up for equality, to embrace their agency and fight for a world where every person’s right to make decisions about their own body is honored."
The post generated intense backlash, with countless comments admonishing Lovato.
Both pro-lifers and those who oppose the degrading term, "birthing people" expressed their disgust with the post.
One user said, "Abortion rights were never in the United States Constitution! Please educate yourself."
Another user said, "Just lost another fan. I was on the edge for a while but girl... you’re too much. Abortions are good[?] You’re literally killing babies in cold blood for the sake of [convenience]. Also, women are women. Only women and mothers can have children. God created man and woman..."
"Birthing people?" this user said. "What is the world coming to? Only women can give birth, plain and simple."
"It is not about your own body but about somebody else’s body!" this user stressed. "The one you carry in the womb is another person that you decide to kill without the right of defense and being innocent anyway. Just think about it and instead of killing an innocent, use preventive methods, there are many available!"
Lila Rose's Live Action also published their response to Lovato's song.
"This is a terrible song and the lyrics were written to reduce a woman to her body. Demi, do you really think that the only thing women are good for is sex? To please others and to be pleased? Are we not valuable human beings that should respect [ours and our children's bodies]?" the Live Action commentator says.
"Defending the lives of our own children in the womb does not make us swine or pigs. It makes us strong. We have a superpower that can grow human beings inside of our wombs, and it should never be reduced or mocked."
Instagram user Emily Ronning responded to Live Action's video, calling users to pray for Lovato.
"I listened to her song and immediately felt compassion. She is deeply tortured. Drug addiction, depression, bipolar, and eating disorders," Ronning said. "She’s definitely under many demonic strongholds and we should pray that she finds freedom."
