Thousands Honor Our Lady of Guadalupe in NYC Street Procession, Walking Miles to Parishes
This is so beautiful!
Thousands celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on the streets of New York City on Sun., Dec. 12 at 1:30 p.m. local time.
The massive event kicked off with an over-flowing Mass celebrated at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Brooklyn. The procession and and lighting of torches followed Mass.
Participants carried torches representing the light of Christ back to each of their parishes across the city.

Vicar for Clergy Rev. Msgr. Sean G. Ogle of the Diocese of Brooklyn said more than 2000 people pre-registered for the Cathedral’s celebratory Mass. Many traveled on foot to participate in the city’s procession from the cathedral back to their parishes.

Catholic journalist and photographer Jeffrey Bruno also posted his experience at the event.
He said some processed “miles and miles” back to their parishes with the torches aflame.
“The faith is alive and well on the dirty streets of Brooklyn,” Bruno wrote on Instagram. “While that might seem an unlikely statement, there’s pictures to prove it.”
