This Is One of the Most Amazing Sung "Ave Maria"s You've Ever Heard!
This’ll make your day!
Bobby McFerrin is one the greatest jazz singers of all-time, though you probably know him best for his hit song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”
He also once performed one of the most amazing sung versions of “Ave Maria” you’ve ever heard!
In the video below, you can see McFerrin sing – yes, sing – Bach’s famous Prelude #1 in C Major with the audience singing Charles Gounod’s famous Ave Maria melody on top (you’ll recognize the song when you hear it).
McFerrin is a Protestant Christian who prays and reads the Bible every day: “I spend a lot of quiet time with God,” he explained in an interview with Christianity Today. “I usually spend an hour or two each morning reading and praying.” Though he grew up in the Episcopal church and sang in the choir, he says he only sometimes attends church today.
