"This is Malicious": Satanic Graffiti Painted on St. Therese Statue & Grotto at Louisiana Church
Lord have mercy!
St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Abbeville, La. fell victim to vandalism on their church property earlier this month.
The Abbeville Police Department responded to a Jan. 4 complaint saying vandals defaced a 70-year-old St. Therese statue with satanic symbols and graffiti. The police department also found the graffiti on the church’s grotto walls and prayer altar.
KATC News said the vandals graffitied multiple satanic symbols and slogans throughout the church’s campus. Vandals spray-painted the words “666”, “satan”, and “die” on the grotto. They also drew a satanic pentagram on the St. Therese statue with the word “satan” written underneath.

Parish trustee John Landry called the act of vandalism “malicious” and “horrible.”
“It’s sad that it’s not a random act of graffiti that some kids did. These are cult paintings,” Landry told KATC News. “Churches are places of peace, solitude, and prayer. To see someone that malicious not only put graffiti, but put the devil’s work and signature on a Christian statue, is horrible.”
KATC News reported that there were no witnesses at the scene and the perpetrators were not yet identified.
Here’s KATC’s media report of the crime:
St. Therese, please pray for all those who hate the Catholic Church!
