Many photos surfaced on social media showing the coach, players, and even a Croatian parliament member exemplifying zeal for the faith.

In an Oct. 4 post, Croatian team coach Zlatko Dalic published an image venerating the Blessed Virgin Mary.
His translated post reads, “Three days – 120 km. Thank you, [Mama] for all the [blessings]! I trust in you Lord! 🙏🇭🇷”
Sports fans also spotted the coach praying the rosary before games.
The post above reads, “Zlatko Dalic, the Croatian football head coach, a devout Catholic, said that he prays the Rosary before every game. / ‘The Rosary is always with me, and when I feel a little rough, I put my hand in my pocket, clasp the rosary, and everything becomes simpler’.”
Croatian parliament member Stephen Nikola Bartulica was also spotted praying the rosary during a World Cup game. EWTN News reporter Mark Irons published photos on Twitter.
The tweet reads, “Croatian parliament member, Catholic [Stephen Nikola Bartulica] prayed with rosary [while] watching #CroatiaVsBrazil penalty shootout yesterday at a [D.C.] watch party. #Croatia advances to #WorldCup semifinals.”
