Do you meditate on your death? There’s so much power in it!

On this week’s episode of The Catholic Talk Show, Ryan Scheel, Fr. Rich Pagano, and Ryan DellaCross discuss Death & the Catholic Church.

In this clip, Fr. Rich Pagano explains why “Mystic of the Desert” Bl. Charles de Foucauld (also a Catholic convert) meditated on his death for at least 30 minutes a day.

“[Bl. Charles de Foucauld] said we should meditate on death at least 30 minutes a day. I don’t do that,” Fr. Pagano said. “But when you do exercise meditation in respect to your own mortality, the perspective that you have and how you’re living your life will only grow. And then you’re going to have that sense of strength of ‘be not afraid’ in facing your own mortality.

“And how you choose to live your life now will be reflected in the glory of God being in your pure focus of how you’re living.”
