Sometimes it seems as if the Evil One dominates the media. It’s often difficult to find celebrities who openly represents goodness, much less Christianity and Catholicism. But it isn’t as rare as you may think!

Here’s 9 celebrities who have been open about their Catholic faith:

Leah Remini

Actress Leah Remini was a member Church of Scientology for three decades, but came back to the Catholic Church a few years ago. This is a photo of her daughter’s baptism in 2015.

In an interview with People Magazine, she said she is at peace when she visits a Catholic Church “by myself, sitting and praying and doing my rosary.”

David Henrie

Former Disney star David Henrie has also been extremely vocal about his Catholic faith. Last year, he married Catholic chastity speaker Maria Cahill at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in California. Their wedding photos were a huge feature article in People Magazine.

He also recently posted a photo of himself with Pope Francis:

His comment on his Instagram post read, “I learned one very important request in Italian for the Pope to pray for me and my wife…Such an amazing experience today and this trip.”

Jim Caviezel

Actor Jim Caviezel is most well-known for his role as Jesus in The Passion of the Christ, and most recently, as Luke in Paul, Apostle of Christ. He said that he is called to choose his acting roles based on bringing “the most souls to Christ.”

In an interview with Catholic News Agency, he said explained his relationship with Jesus in the Eucharist: 

I go to Mass every day and the Eucharist is Christ in me…Everything that I do is always with heaven’s help. It directs my path. It guides me. It is where I got my talent from. What I give back to God from what he has given me … he just multiplies it and blesses it in ways that I never thought possible.”

Harry Connick Jr.

The actor, musician and talk show host doesn’t talk isn’t afraid to talk about his faith if you ask him. He appeared in the 2015 Documentary about The Original Image of the Divine Mercy.

I’m Catholic, and I’m proud of that,” Connick said in an interview with Relevant Radio. ”

In another interview with Franciscan Media, he said “What matters is being present in the here and now,” basing this motto on St. Ignatius of Loyola’s principles of letting your “light shine and doing it well.”

Martin Sheen

Over the years, Martin Sheen has not been shy about his faith. In this interview, he said when he returned to the Catholic Church after falling away, “it was the single most joyful moment of my life.”

Regarding prayer, he said, “…That communion at the Eucharist, and for the most part, I’m just so stunned and so joy-filled that for the most part I just say “thank you.” Thank you for your presence.” 

Pierce Brosnan

In an interview with an Irish publication,  Brosnan said he turned to his faith after his wife and adopted daughter passed away.

“Prayer helped me in those moments in time”, he said. “It helped me with the loss of my wife to cancer and with a child who had fallen on tough times. Now prayer helps me to be a father, to be an actor and to be a man. It always helps to have a bit of prayer in your back pocket. At the end of the day, you have to have something and for me that is God, Jesus, my Catholic upbringing, my faith. You have to be as kind as you can be to yourself and to other people. And you have to live life as boldly as you can.”

Andrea Bocelli

ChurchPOP has previously reported about Bocelli’s visit to the Holy Land and his devotion to the Blessed Mother. However, he continues using his voice as a positive light that shines others towards God.

“Just think of the miracle that is life and how infectious and potent the power of goodness is!” Bocelli said in a recent instagram post.  “Thinking about the miracle that you are and that you embody, about the dreams that – if we combine forces, if we arm ourselves with goodwill and love – we can make come true everyday, I bring my hands together in prayer and reflection, in serene humility and gratitude, certain in my faith for He who is the maker of this great wonder.”

Since then, received an annulment for her first marriage, and got a blessing for her second. She is also a pro-life advocate and often talks about faith-related topics on social media.

Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg is an extremely high-profile actor in Hollywood who is not afraid to tell people he loves his Catholic faith. In 2015, he emceed the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. He’s also advocated for vocations to the priesthood.

In an interview with The Blaze, he said, “If I don’t go to Mass necessarily every day…I definitely go to church every day,” he said. “That’s how I start my day. I like to get in there for about 15 or 20 minutes — say my prayers.”

In another quote, he said, “Every time I go to Mass, it’s through a priest’s hands that I receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, which strengthens me to share my faith with others.”

How amazing! What beautiful witnesses to the faith!
