How does this Catholic mom of seven overcome cancer? With unwavering faith!
On this deeply moving episode of "The Catholic Talk Show," Ryan Scheel, Ryan DellaCrosse, and Father Mac Hill discuss with Jen DellaCrosse her incredible glioblastoma journey, a type of brain tumor.
As a former army nurse with a Master's degree in Psychology, Jen has a unique way of thinking about wellness, which helps maintain her mental and spiritual well-being.
"Every day I read Jer. 29:11, knowing that God has a plan to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future.”
Guided by faith, Jen finds strength in spirituality.
"I do believe God is loving, I do believe that our suffering has a purpose," she says. "My faith has definitely played a large part in just keeping a positive attitude and being able to share with other people.”
Prayer has helped with facing her fears, and the “Surrender Novena” became a cornerstone of daily life.
"Every time, every day, just put it back at the foot of the cross and say, Jesus, I know you’ve got this,” Jen says.
The support of her family—her husband, seven children, and community—has also been a big help. Ryan DellaCrosse says the widespread prayer from the show’s audience has “been humbling” and brings them a great calmness.
"I experience people who wake up and pray for me, and think about me all day. I have tens of thousands of people praying for me. I am really grateful, you guys, for all of you," Jen says.
This episode is so beautiful!
