Rioters Set Fire, Celebrate Destruction of Two Historic Catholic Churches in Chile
Lord have mercy! Please pray for Chile! 🙏🙏🙏
Rioters set fire to and destroyed two Catholic Churches in Chile on Sun., Oct. 18. The riots “commemorate” last year’s anti-government protests.
Vandals destroyed both the St. Francis Borgia Church and the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Santiago, Chile. Built in 1876, they are the oldest churches in Santiago.
Here’s a video of both churches burning:

EWTN’s full tweet reads, “Chilean protesters burned [two] Catholic churches on the anniversary of last year’s anti-government demonstrations and ahead of a constitutional referendum. San Francisco de Borja and La Asuncion churches in Santiago de Chile were destroyed on Sunday.”
The archbishop of Santiago de Chile condemned the attacks and called for peace in an Oct. 18 statement.
“To all of you, dear parishioners of Santiago, to all of you dear Chileans and people of good will and lovers of peace, I beg you: enough, enough violence. Let’s not justify the unjustifiable. God does not want violence. We will meet to do acts of redress and reparation as a believing community. Now I invite you to prayer, to purify our hearts so that neither the desire for revenge, nor rancor, nor hatred, nor violence gets into us.”

The translated tweet reads, “Painful and outrageous images of the architectural and patrimonial damage to the churches La Asunción and San Francisco de Borja. It is irrational and it does not make any sense to burn down a church and thus damage our heritage and history.”

Fatima Angel’s Prayer of Reparation:
“O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary I beg the conversion of poor sinners.”
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, please pray for Chile!
