Priests Lead Eucharistic Blessings Via Airplane Over Dioceses, Petition Deliverance From Coronavirus
Praise God for our priests!
Two priests from Connecticut and New Jersey recently led Eucharistic processions via airplane, petitioning Our Lord for deliverance and healing from COVID-19, the novel coronavirus.
Both priests said an Italian priest inspired them to lead the processions.
Pastor Fr. Brian P. Gannon of St. Theresa Church in Trumbull, Conn. led the procession over the Diocese of Bridgeport with associate pastor Rev. Flavian Bejan. The church’s website explains the Knights of Columbus “underwrote the whole voyage” on Mar. 24, with the help of Coast Guard pilot John DeCastra.
“Fr. Flavian and I are eternally grateful to be instruments of Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lord in the Eucharist to bring His supernatural grace and hope of healing to as many people as possible. God is always victorious!”
Here’s a video of their voyage below:
New Jersey priest Fr. Anthony Manuppella also blessed the Diocese of Camden on Mar. 18 with the same pilot’s help.
With parochial vicar Fr. John Seo, a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, and the Blessed Sacrament exposed, the St. Gianna Beretta Molla Catholic Church pastor prayed “with Jesus and Mary for all the people in our diocese, that they’re protected against this virus…and for healing.”
Fr. Manuppella also prayed “for deliverance from this virus, just as they did in the Middle Ages and Renaissance time, when the plague from time to time would rear its ugly head.”

The full post reads, “Joined by his parochial vicar, Father John Seo, with the Blessed Sacrament and Blessed Mother in tow, Father Anthony Manuppella, pastor of St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish, went up in a Cessna 182 Skylane on Wednesday afternoon, March 18, to bless the Diocese of Camden amidst the COVID-19 epidemic.
“Praying the Litany of the Saints and Prayers for Deliverance, Father Manuppella and Father Seo completed the 207-mile flyover at 1,000 feet with help from pilot Kevin Bradberry and co-pilot John DeCastra, both parishioners of Saint Gianna.”
Many priests throughout the world held similar ground processions. Bishop Joseph Strickland of the Diocese of Tyler called for all priests to lead Eucharistic processions in their dioceses in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Lord Jesus, please have mercy on us and end this coronavirus pandemic!
