Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello of Brooklyn, New York has been officially removed from Our Lady of Mount Carmel- Annunciation Parish in Brooklyn, New York, after he violated several diocesan policies.

Msgr. Gigantiello made headlines last October after receiving backlash for allowing pop singer Sabrina Carpenter to perform a provocative music video inside Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.

The video, “Feather,” which generated over 102 million views on YouTube, had Catholics wondering what kind of leadership would allow something so blasphemous to set foot inside a sacred space. Carpenter is shown in a revealing dress and a black veil performing on the altar. Yes, the very same one Christ Himself is often received.

On Nov. 7, 2023, Bishop Brennan celebrated a Mass of reparation and blessed the Church in response to Carpenter’s public display of desecration.

Bishop Brennan relieved Msgr. Gigantiello of all administrative oversight and governance roles including Diocesan Vicar for Development. The diocese later found evidence of secret financial transfers totaling almost $2 million.

However, Catholic News Agency reported on November 19 that Bishop Brennan stripped Msgr. Gigantiello of his pastorship. It became evident that from 2019 to 2021, Msgr. Gigantiello used parish funds to transfer 1.9 million to a bank account linked to attorney Frank Carone, former chief of staff of New York Democrat mayor Eric Adams.

Democrat Adams, to note, is a staunch supporter of abortion. It is currently unclear what the funds were used for.

According to the diocese, Msgr. Gigantiello's other instances of financial deceit and mismanagement include using a church credit card for “personal expenses.”

Several online news publications have taken to X to report Carpenter’s involvement in Msgr. Gigantiello's dismissal, including Rolling Stone, BBC News, Billboard, and the Associated Press.

Let us pray in reparation for these acts of desecration against Our Lord!

Fatima Angel's Prayer of Reparation

“O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners.”
