Oregon Archbishop Uses 1962 Latin Rite to Baptize Youngest Baby of 12: “I Was Reminded of Why I Became a Priest”
This is so beautiful!
Archbishop Alexander K. Sample of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Portland, Oregon announced a baptism he recently administered in the 1962 Latin Rite.
He also celebrated the Extraordinary Form Mass, also known as the Tridentine Mass, or the Traditional Latin Mass.
He explained the baptism, along with a link to the photos of the beautiful event:
“I had the wonderful privilege yesterday of baptizing the 12th child, Benedict Alexander, of Tricia and Chad Cmelja at All Saints Parish in Minneapolis,” Archbishop Sample said in this Facebook post.
“Tricia was the leader of my youth group in my first parish in Bark River, Michigan when she was a high school junior. I witnessed their marriage 22 years ago.
“The baptism was according to the 1962 Rite and followed my celebration of an Extraordinary Form Mass at the parish. Enjoy the photos of this happy event…I was reminded of why I became a priest 29 years ago!”
