Olivia Rodrigo Distributes Free "Plan B" Pills at Concert - Social Media Erupts in Disgust
Olivia Rodrigo is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who has gained widespread recognition for her catchy songs featuring themes of love, angst, and teenage heartbreak.
She is currently on her “Guts” world tour.
The 21-year-old pop star has been a long-time supporter of abortion, often speaking in favor of the demonic practice during her shows and across her social media accounts.
However, she recently took her advocacy a step further, and it is especially concerning.
During her stop in Saint Louis, Mo., she had an interesting gift for attendees: emergency contraception pills, condoms, and information about abortion, including how to obtain an abortion.
Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Missouri has outlawed abortion on demand. The memorabilia included in the goodie bag likely contained information on how to obtain an out-of-state abortion.
You would not expect these items from a concert experience, especially when her fanbase is largely underage girls.
According to Variety,
“Concertgoers at her March 12 show in St. Louis, Mo., were able to grab a package that includes two boxes of Julie — an emergency contraceptive that helps prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex — as well as cards with QR codes linking to abortion access resources and the Missouri Abortion Fund. Fans also reported free condoms and stickers being passed out.”
In addition to providing pro-choice propaganda at her concert, Rodrigo announced earlier this month that a portion of her “Guts” world tour ticket sales would directly support abortion.
She explained that a portion of all ticket sales from the North American tour will go to the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF). As part of her world tour, Rodrigo also created an initiative called “Fund 4 Good”, an organization that provides monetary assistance for women to travel to obtain an abortion.
A concertgoer expressed gratitude on X (Formerly Twitter), citing the Missouri Abortion Fund.
The tweet reads,
“Free plan b at @oliviarodrigo in St. louis tonight 💓 thank you @MOAbortionFund”.
March for Life responded to the tweet:
“Olivia Rodrigo handed out Plan B pills at her concert in Saint Louis.
"Plan B is an abortifacient.
"Young fans, especially young women, deserve support during a pregnancy, not a drug that will violently end it.”

March for Life followed their response with additional information about Plan B functions as an abortifacient.
“For anyone who doesn’t know, Plan B can prevent a child (who came into existence at fertilization) from implanting into the uterus, which makes it an abortifacient.”

A Pro-Life Response
Users across social media strongly responded to the news that the pop star provided this to concert attendees, many of whom are young women.
While many responses revolved around the question of whether or not emergency contraceptive pills are in fact abortifacients, many of them called out the evil nature of the situation at large.
One user said, “This is a disgusting misuse of her influence. Although plan b doesn’t cause an abortion, it’s not right to give it to children at concerts.”
Another user, also a holistic doula, made an important note, saying, “You can’t even buy these at Walgreens without getting someone to unlock the case, yet here’s this celebrity - who is a stranger to everyone at the concert and has zero medical training - handing them out like candy.”
Another user added, “Why is this not illegal? I would think distributing drugs of any kind would be. Even handing out Tylenol! Nurses at schools can’t give our kids anything without parental permission.”
Some Instagram users also expressed their disgust and disappointment.
“I can't imagine being that excited about terminating a pregnancy that you'd go to those lengths to do it," one user shared. "Abortion is nothing to be proud of or to happily advertise. Gross Olivia.”
“I don't understand why she is so excited to help her fans kill their babies,” another user pointed out.
One user challenged the singer, saying, “A real hero would be handing out resources for pregnancy care, financial, physical, and psychological. It's not helpful to make it even easier to make an awful and traumatic decision that results in someone's life being taken away. So, so unhelpful to women and children.”
Pro-Life Call to Action
While Rodrigo's actions may not surprise us, they should still inspire us to act.
As pro-life Catholics, we are called to defend life.
During his World Youth Day message delivered in Denver, Colo., Pope Saint John Paul II reminded young people of this very calling. It can be a powerful message for these times:
"At this stage of history, the liberating message of the Gospel of life has been put into your hands. And the mission of proclaiming it to the ends of the earth is now passing to your generation. Like the great apostle Paul, you too must feel the full urgency of the task: "Woe to me if I do not evangelize" (1 Cor. 9:16). Woe to you if you do not succeed in defending life."
