Anyone who thinks that religious life is sad and rigid certainly doesn't know the Catholic Church well enough!

Men and women who take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience actually live a sacrificial life of service, prayer, apostolate, and renunciation for the Kingdom of God.

But it is a choice driven by love for Christ, the Church, and humanity. So it's far from depressing!

The Franciscans of God's Providence in Brazil recently showed this in a lighthearted Instagram video of the sisters' trip to a water park.

“In the midst of busy days, God spoils us with incredible moments of fraternity," the post says.

In the recording, the nuns wear veils and “bathing habits” while swimming in the park. They exude smiles and joy wherever they go!

Here's what some users said about the video:

"Pov [Point of View]: you're going to be a nun because you're a sad person...Nuns being sad, hahaha," One user said.

"Joy is in the heart of those who already know Jesus," another user said.

"My question is: how did that veil not fall 😂," someone else commented.

"How beautiful it is to be Catholic," another user added.

About the Franciscans of God's Providence

The Association and Fraternity of Saint Francis of Assisi in the Providence of God was founded in 1985 by Friar Francisco Belotti who, “with the desire to follow in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi, realized through the movement of the Holy Spirit that today's leprosy is chemical dependency,” the organization explains.

The website states, “Association and Fraternity, a non-profit philanthropic entity...is dedicated to welcoming, caring for, and serving those who need it most acting on three fronts: provision of health services, social works, and spiritual formation."

The Franciscans of God's Providence share several videos on social media regarding the congregation's routine to inspire the vocational call.
