NFL Raven's Tight End Ben Watson Set to Speak at March for Life
NFL player Benjamin Watson, tight end for the Baltimore Ravens, is scheduled to speak at the March for Life 2017.
Watson is on a list of speakers on the March for Life website that also includes Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York, Donald Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, author Eric Metaxas, former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson, and more.
Watson is very open about his Christian faith and has publicly spoken out against abortion before.
“It is past time for men to be the leaders, caretakers and protectors they were created to be,” Watson said in an endorsement of a new pro-life book Abortion: The Ultimate Exploitation of Women. “As with many other social injustices, abortion will not end until men stand up for both the lives of the innocent and the mothers in crisis.
“While it has been attractively packaged by some, abortion is the most egregious social injustice of our time. […] We cannot remain silent.”
He has also specifically attacked Planned Parenthood.
“I do know that blacks kind of represent a large portion of the abortions,” he said in an interview with a crisis pregnancy center, “and I do know that honestly the whole idea with Planned Parenthood and Sanger in the past was to exterminate blacks, and it’s kind of ironic that it’s working.
“We (as minorities) support candidates, and overwhelmingly support the idea of having Planned Parenthood and the like, and yet, that is why she created it. We are buying it hook, line, and sinker, like it’s a great thing.
“It’s just amazing to me and abortion saddens me period, but it seems to be something that is really pushed on minorities and provided to minorities especially as something that they should do.”
Watson is married with five children, including twin daughters.
Here’s a family Christmas photo he posted on his Facebook page:
