Actor and producer Mark Wahlberg’s film, ‘Father Stu’ will return to theaters as ‘Father Stu: Reborn’ on Dec. 9, 2022 for family audiences.
Sony Pictures announced the theatrical release of a cleaner version of the original R-rated film. The Dec. 9 release will be PG-13.
Wahlberg portrays Fr. Stuart Long, a boxer-turned-Catholic priest who had a “religious experience” in the hospital and converted to Catholicism, realizing his call to the priesthood during his baptism.
The film follows Stu’s journey to the priesthood, the suffering he endured after his inclusion body myositis diagnosis, and the incredible impact he made on his community.
This version is rated PG-13 for language, an accident scene, sexual references, some violence and smoking.
