Mark Wahlberg Gives Homily in Mass as 'Father Stu' in Exclusive Movie Sneak Peek
Are you familiar with Montana priest Father Stu’s amazing story?
Upon facing death after hit by a car, former boxer Father Stu said he had a “religious experience” in the hospital, and converted to Catholicism. He realized his call to the priesthood during his baptism.
Mark Wahlberg portrays the late priest in the upcoming movie, “Father Stu.” Mel Gibson also portrays Father Stu’s father, Bill Long.

The film follows Stu’s journey to the priesthood, the suffering he endured after his inclusion body myositis diagnosis, and the incredible impact he made on his community.
Sony Pictures provided ChurchPOP with an exclusive never-before-seen movie clip. In the clip, Mark Wahlberg portrays Stu as a seminarian preaching about forgiveness to a congregation during Mass.

“God’s forgiveness is contingent upon us forgiving others,” Father Stu (portrayed by Mark Wahlberg) says in the clip.
“It ain’t easy to do. Truth is, we ain’t got no power to do it ourselves…It’s all God’s grace. You’ve just got to let him in. He’ll do the heavy lifting.”
‘Father Stu’ exclusively hits movie theaters on April 13.
