With the heated atmosphere in the United States, including the attacks on the sanctity of human life, marriage, churches, and religious freedom, it is so important to pray every day for the country.
In response to this great need for prayer, EWTN is leading the way in an upcoming "Novena to the Mother of God for the Nation," which begins on Oct. 27.
The novena is available as both a physical booklet and a downloadable eBook and will air on EWTN during scheduled times.
Here's the description from EWTN's website:
"Join EWTN in prayer for our nation. This free resource – Novena to the Mother of God for the Nation, available as a physical booklet or downloadable eBook – provides prayer that challenges us to a deeper conversion to Christ and a more generous life of charity. It inspires us to live as more responsible and faithful citizens of our beloved nation. With these intentions in mind, we will turn to Mary and meditate on the graces of her life.
Along with this free resource, you will receive each day’s prayers of the Novena directly to your email inbox. Join us and unite with others in prayer to the Blessed Mother."
The EWTN booklet also encourages participants to do the following during the novena:
1. Attend Mass and receive Holy Communion each day of the novena.
2. Go to confession.
3. Read Scripture and pray the Rosary each day.
4. Donate or do something practical to help the poor.
5. Encourage as many people as possible to pray the novena.
