"Our love for God's children has got to be greater than our fear of evil, just as our love for Jesus got to be greater than our fear of the cross."
These were actor Jim Caviezel's powerful words during an interview with ChurchPOP editor Jacqueline Burkepile to discuss his upcoming movie "Sound of Freedom."
Caviezel, who portrayed Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ," portrays Tim Ballard, a former government agent on a mission to rescue children from human trafficking.
"After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her," the film's trailer caption describes.
"With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death."
In one clip from the interview, Caviezel stresses how evil the human trafficking industry is.
He says that it is a business making more money than the Super Bowl, with "300,000 children under the ages of 18 being sucked into the deepest recess recesses of hell in America."
"We have two million children right now that are being trafficked--right now at this moment," Caviezel says. "It's a $152 billion a year business. 152. Just to understand how big that is.
"That's more than all the sports teams in the world, and if you sent every 18-year-old to college at Stanford or Harvard--four-year degree--all 18-year-olds for four years--that's the kind of idea how big.
"This is way bigger than the Super Bowl. That's a big cultural event. 300,000 children under the age of 18 are being sucked into the deepest recess recesses of hell in America."
