The Carabinieri Corps of Milan, Italy, intercepted a letter on Aug. 9 addressed to Pope Francis that contained three bullets.
According to local Italian media, the letter contained three Flobert-type 9-mm caliber pellets. It also included an alleged message about the Vatican’s financial operations, in which a lawsuit was filed against several people, including Cardinal Angelo Becciu.

The sender addressed the barely legible note written in pen to “The Pope – Vatican City – St. Peter’s Square in Rome.”
The Italian media reported that the letter came from France.
It contained a French stamp and a copy of a deposit of 10 euros. However, the contents’ details are unknown.
Police of the San Donato Milanese district seized the letter and are investigating the case along with the Milan investigation unit. Leading the investigation is deputy prosecutor Alessandra Cerreti at the Milan Prosecutor’s Office.
