The new Catholic film about the Blessed Mother, "I Am the Immaculate Conception," will be in theaters on Dec. 12, 14, and 17.
The docudrama centering on the Catholic Church's dogma of the Immaculate Conception, is directed and produced by Michal Kondrat (Love and Mercy: Faustina, Purgatory, Prophet), in association with the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception.
In an exclusive ChurchPOP interview, editor Jacqueline Burkepile speaks with Father Chris Alar, MIC, the host of EWTN's Living Divine Mercy, about the new film.
According to the film's description,
"A group of eminent experts, including the Marian Fathers, analyze Greek texts of the Holy Scripture, revelations, and the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. The result is a new interpretation of passages of the Scripture revealing Mary, the Mother of Christ, and her extraordinary role in the divine plan for the salvation of the world."
Father Alar discusses his role in the film, why he thinks it will appeal to Catholic and non-Catholic audiences, what he hopes viewers take from it, and if anything providential or supernatural occurred behind the scenes while filming.
"It's a family-friendly movie and it helps you to understand your faith more so that you can love your faith more," Father Alar told Burkepile. "What I want and hope for people to come out of this is a new love and appreciation for the role of Mary."
