Hyper-Realistic Body of Jesus Created After Intense Scientific Study of Shroud of Turin
This is incredible! 😱
After 15 years of studying the Shroud of Turin, Spanish artists completed a hyperrealistic sculpture of Jesus’ body.
The Shroud of Turin is the cloth many believe was wrapped around Jesus’ dead body after his crucifixion.
The 165-pound latex and silicone sculpture is part of “The Mystery Man” exhibition currently on display in Spain’s Salamanca Cathedral. It will travel all over the world across five continents.
According to the official website, the exhibition includes “a hyper-realistically recreated body” with “six rooms with objects, documents, videos, [and] an immersive room,” adding that it’s “an exhibition based on exhaustive scientific studies.”
The sculpture includes every aspect of the shroud, including circumcision. It also meticulously includes hair, pores, freckles, eyebrows, eyelashes, and every other detail of the body.
It details the lacerations of Jesus across his entire body, including those from the crown of thorns, the nails in his hand and feet, the piercing of his side, his shoulder wounds, and his injuries from the scourging.
Curator Alvaro Blanco said the artists wanted to create “a figure as real as possible to what is represented on the Shroud of Turin.”
Blanco added that upon seeing the completed sculpture, he “was convinced” that “he was before the image of the body of Jesus of Nazareth.”
