Wow, this sounds awesome and super fun!
FOCUS, or the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, will host its biannual SEEK conference from January 3-7, 2019.
As part of the conference, they invite college student participants to perform in a event called “Awaken,” “an exclusive poetry, art and music competition.”
The purpose of the event, sponsored by Our Sunday Visitor and Papercastle Records, “is to give participants at SEEK the chance to see beauty as a bridge to the Divine–a window to encounter the person of Christ.”
Check out the trailer below:
Awaken stemmed from similar events held at the SEEK2017 conference, in which more than 130 students’ artwork and poetry were displayed for more than 13,000 college students to see.
Additionally, a competition entitled “FOCUS on Stage” featured student musicians performing original songs.
The SEEK2017 Conference awarded winners the opportunity to record an original song at Papercastle Records in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mary Anne Muglia of Northern Arizona University, Dominic Smith of Northern Arizona University, and Christian Nuygen of University of Arizona won the 2017 competition.
They also opened for Matt Maher at SLS18, and performed one song with him and Sarah Kroger!
The application deadline for this competition is Nov. 15. Click here if you would like to register.
Don’t miss this awesome opportunity if you plan on attending SEEK!
