Award-winning chef, radio, and television Father Leo Patalinghug came to the Eucharistic Congress to discuss the powerful presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
The Plating Grace founder and host of EWTN's "Savoring Our Faith" explained the importance of understanding the sacredness of the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
He said that "even Satanists" understand Jesus' Eucharistic presence and are "sent on a mission to enter into our churches and to steal the Eucharist so to desecrate it."
Due to the sacredness of the Eucharist, he explains that extraordinary "ministers of the Eucharist" must pay close attention and "realize how powerful of a sacrament that you hold in your hand and to make sure it's treated worthily."
"You are what you eat and if we take that seriously, then what we receive is supposed to transubstantiate us, we're supposed to change our substance from within–from Sinner to someone who seeks to be a saint."

Here is the full text of Father Leo's words:
"Interesting, brothers and sisters, that so many Catholics don't understand the True Presence of Christ, but Satanists do?
"They are actually sent on a mission to enter into our churches and to steal the Eucharist so as to desecrate it, which is why we have to really be attentive as ministers of the Eucharist.
"But also to make sure that our lay people– if they are commissioned as extraordinary ministers of communion, that they don't think that it's just a nice little job, and they're just handing out a gift.
"No, no, no. You have got to realize how powerful of a sacrament that you hold in your hand and to make sure it's treated worthily because Mom and Mother church are right: you are what you eat.
"And if we take that seriously, then what we receive is supposed to transubstantiate us– we're supposed to change our substance from within from sinner to someone who seeks to be a saint."
