Dominican Band "The Hillbilly Thomists" Now #1 Selling Folk Album on Amazon
A bluegrass band made up of Dominicans called The Hillbilly Thomists just released a new folk music album, and it’s already the best-selling folk music album on Amazon!
This is an amazing accomplishment!
Catholic University of American theology professor pointed out on Twitter, “If a professional booking agent worth their salt was listening, they’d already have #TheHillbillyThomists booked on the Late Night shows.”
You can see their self-titled album at the top of the list for yourself right here.
And here’s a screenshot:
The album, released under their own label Dominicana Records, has 12 songs performed by their band of 13 Dominicans, with instruments played including the washboard, banjo, accordion, bass, piano, drums, fiddle, guitar, and mandolin.
Below is a music video for one of their songs, “Poor Wayfaring Stranger”:
All of the Dominicans are in the Dominican province of St. Joseph, a division that coves the northeastern United States and attended the Dominican House of Studies in Washington D.C.. We’ve previously covered their beautiful liturgies as well as posted a neat Dominican video game they made.
You can purchase their new album on Amazon.
Congrats to the Hillbilly Thomists!
