Church to Use Drones to Drop Electronic Bibles in ISIS-Controlled Areas
A Protestant evangelical church in Sweden is planning on dropping thousands of small electronic bibles into ISIS controlled areas with drones in the next few weeks.
“Our ambition is to pass on the hope and love of the Christian gospel to a population living in closed areas where they are being denied human rights,” the church said in a statement.
Instead of printed bibles, they will be dropping specially made electronic bibles. “The bibles are the size of pill boxes and have a display,” a representative of the church explained. “They require no electricity, but work on their own.”
Founded in 1983, Livets Ord (Word of Life) church in Uppsala, Sweden has around 3,000 members and is broadly a part of the global pentecostal movement. In 2014, its leaders at the time, Ulf and Birgitta Ekman, made headlines for leaving the church to convert to Catholicism.
