Wow, what a statement!
And I’m not referring to French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent statement about fertility and family planning in Africa.
I’m referring to the statement women are making in response to his recent speech!
But first, let’s go over what he said.
Macron recently presented at Gates Foundation’s “Goalkeepers,” expressing disapproval of the lack of educated women in Africa.
He explained that because of this lack of education, women are having larger families than they would like and/or should.
According to an article in The Guardian, this is what he said:
“One of the critical issues of African demography is that this is not chosen fertility…”
“Present me the woman who decided, being perfectly educated, to have seven, eight or nine children. Please present me with the young girl who decided to leave school at 10 in order to be married at 12.”
“This is just because a lot of girls were not properly educated, sometimes because these countries decided the rights of these girls were not exactly the same rights as the young man. That is not acceptable.”
Many women took it into their hands to respond to the French president over twitter with #PostcardsForMacron, proving his statements wrong.

This user said, “My mother was born and raised in Nigeria, Africa. She is well educated, was a full time teacher, then an entrepreneur and an awesome homemaker to six educated children and fourteen grandchildren (so far). I love you Mamma.
