Actor Chris Pratt Reveals He Listens to Father Mike Schmitz's "Bible in a Year" Podcast
Actor Chris Pratt revealed on Instagram that he listens to Father Mike Schmitz's "Bible in a Year" podcast.
The actor, known for his roles in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurassic World," took a screenshot of the Hallow App, showing he made it to day 221 of the year-long podcast.
"Here's what I was listening to on my run portion [Bible in a Year Podcast]," Pratt wrote. "Have loved using [the Hallow App]! What a great job, [Mark Wahlberg]!"
Pratt also explained in an Instagram stories video that his "Bible in a Year" adventure "will probably be more like Bible in a Year and a half, but I'm doing my best."
Over the past several years, Pratt made headlines for openly expressing his Christian faith.
In June of 2018, he announced his "Spiritual Rules for Life" during MTV's Movie and TV Awards.
“You have a soul,” Pratt said. "Be careful with it."
“God is real,” the actor added. “God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do.”
He also encouraged the audience to "Learn to pray," explaining that "it’s easy and it’s so good for your soul.”
On Easter in 2020, Pratt watched Sunday Mass and tagged Catholic priest Msgr. Lloyd Torgerson of Saint Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, Calif.
"Let us pray. He is Risen," he wrote.
In 2021, Pratt generated backlash from social media after expressing gratitude for his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, and their “beautiful and healthy” daughter.
The actor’s oldest child, Jack, whom he had with his first wife, Anna Farris, struggles with multiple health problems.
However, Pratt responded to criticism with grace rather than spite, giving "glory to God."
“I woke up…and didn’t want to exercise,” Pratt said. “I knew though that if I put on my Christian music playlist, and I got out in the woods and ran, that I’d feel better, but I just didn’t want to.”
“And I did it anyways, and, gosh, was I right. It felt amazing,” he continued. “God sat there right next to me.”
“That moment, it really captured me, and so I just want to say, all glory to God.”
Pratt then encouraged his followers to read the Bible.
“Get some exercise, maybe listen to some good worship music and maybe get the Word in, because it really helped me this morning.”
