Bishop Robert Barron announced in an Instagram post that he met with Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf while he prepared for the upcoming Padre Pio movie at a Franciscan Capuchin friary in Burlingame, California.

LaBeouf stars as the lead role in the film about St. Padre Pio’s young life. The Italian saint was a 20th-century priest, stigmatist, and mystic. Filmmaker Abel Ferrara directed the movie.
The actor previously starred in multiple blockbuster movies, including Transformers and Indiana Jones.
Bishop Barron said he saw LaBeouf a second time when he recently screened the Padre Pio movie.
