Joe Biden’s campaign released a video explaining how Biden’s Catholic faith impacts his life and morals, despite his pro-abortion position.
Biden also appointed pro-abortion senator Kamala Harris as his running mate in the 2020 presidential race.
Biden narrates the video showing his past meeting with Pope Francis. He explains how being baptized and raised Catholic, as well as his Catholic education, helps him understand the importance of being”our brother’s keeper.”
The tweet with the video reads, “This is the kind of moral conviction we need in the president of the United States.”

Here’s the video’s text:
“I had just walked out the side door of St. Peter’s Basilica after a meeting and getting an opportunity to shake hands and have a brief conversation with Pope Francis. The first people I saw were a group of nuns, who to me, epitomize everything Pope Francis talked about in his homily and what he stands for.
“About generosity to other people, about reaching out, about making it a point to understand that we are our brother’s keeper. And that’s what, in my experience, being raised as a Catholic and being educated by the nuns–that’s what those lovely women I’m talking to–symbolize to me.
“So I thought it was a good omen. We are our brother’s keeper. We have an obligation. I think that’s the way–the only way–we’re going to make the world better and safer. It was an exciting time and it gave me a lot of hope.”
Joe Biden’s Anti-Catholic Policies
Joe Biden regularly speaks of his Catholic faith in public. However, many of his political positions contradict Catholic Church teaching. Biden supports pro-abortion polices and contradicts Church teaching on gender identity.
He also supports taxpayer-funded abortions and plans to end the Little Sisters of the Poor’s contraception exemption.
The Catholic Church teaches that “direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law,” and “formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense.” (CCC 2271-2272)
The Catechism also teaches that “everyone, man and woman, should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity.” (CCC 2333)
CatholicVote president Brian Burch told CNA that it is “it’s obvious Biden attends Mass, and it’s obvious his Catholic faith has been a comfort to him at critical moments in his life.
“But the question in this election is about what his plans are for this country, and that’s what believers should focus on,” Burch added. “What matters here isn’t his devotional life, but his policies. And his policy agenda threatens the freedom of the Church in America.”
Biden also appointed pro-abortion senator Kamala Harris as his running mate on Aug. 11.
Harris campaigned as a Planned Parenthood advocate and supports abortion up until birth.
EWTN’s Pro-life Weekly explained Harris’ pro-abortion involvement after she ordered Center for Medical Progress’ David Daleiden’s apartment raid. Authorities investigated Daleiden after he released footage of Planned Parenthood harvesting aborted baby parts.
