Catholic Women Plead to Pope Francis for Answers to Viganò’s Statement in Viral Letter

Thousands of Catholic women are calling for answers from Pope Francis in a letter that addresses Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò’s recent testimony.

The 11-page testimony, which was released late last week, accused the Holy Father of knowing about former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick’s sexually abusive behavior since at least 2013.

This letter comes in response to Pope Francis’s silence regarding Viganò’s allegations. According to an article in Catholic News Agency, Pope Francis advised people to “read the statement carefully and make your own judgment,” and that he “will not say a single word on this.”

The letter, which was posted on Thursday, and already has more than 20,000 signatures. You can read the it below:

There are several well-known Catholic female figures who have already signed the letter, including Catholic talk show hosts Teresa Tomeo and Jennifer Fulwiler, Founder and President of Culture of Life Africa Obianuju Ekeocha, and Catholic authors and evangelists Leah Darrow and Lisa Cotter, to name a few.
