Lord, have mercy.
The Satanic Temple held a First Amendment rally on Aug. 16, requesting that their 7.5-foot bronze statue of Baphomet, a 14th century goat-faced figure with wings, also accompanied by two smiling children, be permanently placed on the Arkansas Capitol state grounds in Little Rock.
Here’s what the statue looks like:
According to a Fox News report, the statue “can’t be installed under a 2017 state law that requires legislative sponsorship for consideration of any monument.”
The rally was also covered by the Arkansas Catholic, explaining that many Catholics and Non-Catholic Christians attended the rally in protest of the statue.
“I grew up in Arkansas and I’m not going to stand for it,” one person said.
Another added, “I think every Catholic should be out here today…I just wanted to be there because sometimes presence can touch a heart …You can just tell in their voices that they were hurting.
America Needs Fatima, an organization that promotes Our Lady of Fatima’s message, presented a petition of 25,000 signatures to Gov. Asa Hutchinson. The petition is still active and can be signed here.
Regardless of the Satanists’ reasoning, anytime the devil is present, there are always problems! Inviting him in is never a good idea! Also, a display of small children smiling at a satanic symbol is EXACTLY what Jesus said NOT to do!
“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” (Matt. 18:6)
Hopefully, with lots of prayer and protests, this statue won’t permanently make its way to the Arkansas Capitol!
