Grab some tissues before you watch this!

Below is a video of a group of young women singing the classic hymn “How Great Thou Art” in perfect, heavenly harmony. According the Facebook video description, the group is called “BYU Noteworthy Alumni.” BYU is a reference to the Mormon Brigham Young University.

The words for “How Great Thou Art” were originally written in Swedish by the Swedish Protestant poet Carl Boberg in 1885. The Swedish title is “O store Gud” and the melody was a traditional Swedish tune. It was translated into German and Russian, and the English version was translated from the Russian. It was popularized in the 20th century by George Beverly Shea and Cliff Barrows during the Billy Graham crusades.

The rendition in the video starts off very simple and builds as it goes along – so be sure to watch all the way to the end!
